Positive Attitude. Though the main duty of a manager is to direct his or her team, they must also ensure that their team is motivated to do their work well. A happy atmosphere leads to more productive employees, which in turn leads to better quality work and a better company. Managers should also be aware of their employee’s needs and concerns — any employee complaints, problems or personal issues should be dealt with in a sensitive and timely manner.

Different Types Of Management Styles
There are many different types of management styles, but there are a few that are more commonly utilized. Each different style has its own benefits, and each has its own drawbacks.

A participative management style involves getting feedback and opinions from one’s team before coming to a final decision. Employees tend to value this style of management because it allows them to voice their opinions and feel more involved with the manager’s decision making process. However, coming to a conclusion with this style takes longer because the manager must gather employee feedback.

Democratic managers typically delegate tasks to different members of their team. Though employees tend to feel more involved in the process with this style, it is not well-received by those who do not like the task they have been presented with. Employees under a democratic manager may also tend to feel like the work is being delegated to them because the manager doesn’t want to do it.

An authoritarian manager is one who makes decisions and does not allow them to be questioned. Though this style gives the workplace an orderly and structured atmosphere, it tends to make employees feel as if they have no say in the company’s affairs.
